NephMadness is a celebration of all things nephrology by the AJKD Blog team. We pit 32 unique aspects of nephrology against each other.

How to enter:

  1. Visit AJKD Blog to learn about all the teams in the tournament.
  2. Submit your picks (after which you'll be asked to register/log in).
  3. Claim up to 8.0 CME credits.
  4. Encourage your friends, family, patients, and co-workers to fill out brackets!

How are Matches Determined?

Winners for each matchup are determined by majority vote from the Blue-Ribbon Panel before the start of the tournament. 


One copy of Brenner and Rector's The Kidney, 10th Edition, will be awarded to:

  • Top Overall score

One copy of National Kidney Foundation Primer on Kidney Diseases will be awarded to:

  • Top Medical Student score*
  • Top Resident score*
  • Top Fellow score*
  • Top Attending score*

One NephMadness Plaque will be awarded to:

  • Most Entries Group* 
  • Highest Score Group* 

One NephMadness cap will be awarded to:

  • Best Tweeter
  • Best Blogger

  • March 15, Thursday, Bracket entry opens
  • March 30, Friday (11:59pm EDT): Deadline for entering contest
  • March 31, Saturday: First round results. Scoring begins & Saturated 16 named
  • April 2, Monday: Saturated 16 results and Effluent 8 named
  • April 3, Tuesday: Effluent 8 results and the Filtered Four named
  • April 4, Wednesday: Filtered Four results and the finalists named
  • April 6, Friday: NephMadness Champion crowned

Most CKD occurs in older age group, and then most younger women attain . menopause so early in dialysis. How can reproductive planning (which is a happy, important part of life, be better than a n understudied directly impacting situation? Brahhahahahhaha. NOT COOL.
