Contest Lifecyle

Understanding The Bracketology Contest Lifecycle Makes
Running Your Contest Simple

Running a bracketology contest is easy if you understand the lifecycle of the contest.  Tourneytopia makes it simple.  The diagram below explains all the steps and terms you need to know.

Lifecycle Steps
  1. Testing Mode: Allows you and your participants to register, submit test entries and setup private pools.
  2. Go-Live Date/Time: All entries are cleared and testing mode ends. This is the time that real-competitors are loaded into the draw.
  3. Entry Start Date/Time: Pool opens for participants to enter their entries. It is highly recommend that you send your invite email to customers, friends and families.
  4. Entry Submitted: Each entry submitted forces the user to either login or create a new account (including filling out your custom registration questions). Once the pick is submitted participants are sent a personalizable email with their entry number and a link there entry detail page.
  5. Entry End Date/Time: Pool closes to new entries. Participants track their entry's and overall standings.
  6. Manage Match Results: During this period Tourneytopia or bracketology template managers manage the match resuls and the standings are automatically updated for all entries. After each round a personalizable standings notification email is sent to each participant who is subscribed to notifications.
  7. What-If Scenarios: Once the final four is determined the final eight scenarios are generated and become availalbe for participants to see.
  8. Contest Finished: Use the standings report and the tie breaker to determine winners and distribute prizes. Use the reports to gather all of valuable marketing data.
